Jake McGowan-Lowe

My name is Jake and I am a bone collector, explorer, naturalist, author and blogger as seen on BBC's The One Show (with Sir David Attenborough), Autumnwatch, Winterwatch, Newsround, BBC Breakfast and CBBC Wild.

I am fourteen years old, and I live in a beautiful part of Scotland with my mum, my dad, my baby brothers and my two cats. I love walking, exploring, watching wildlife and collecting bones. I've been collecting bones since I was six, and I started blogging in July 2009 when I was seven.

My bone collecting has been featured in the media many times, including in The Times, the Daily Telegraph, the Mail on Sunday, the Sun, Scotland on Sunday, the Daily Mail, BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio Scotland.

My first book (based on my blog at www.jakes-bones.com) is now available in the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, and South Korea, and was shortlisted for the Royal Society Young Person's Book of The Year 2015.

BBC Wildlife Magazine says I'm one of the top 50 conservationists in their Wildlife Power List, and I won "Highly Commended" in their 2015 young wildlife blogger awards. The Courier ranked me at #24 in their "Impact" list in 2015.
