Chrissy is a professional nurse who has been working in the industry for over fifteen years. She always had a desire to write stories. When she was young she would self-publish mystery books (using crayons, paper, stapler and tape) and give them to her parents as gifts. (She doubts they ever read them.)
Through many creative writing courses at University, she specialized in short stories. But the desire to write novels never left her and in the last year she has decided that she has many more books to get out.
As she tells it, the idea for these first three books started back in 2002 when her husband mentioned how he thought there was so much of a gap between popular men's novels and women's novels. The more she thought about it, the more she realized he was right. Of course lots of women and men read the same fiction. But when it came to female romantic fiction, the genre was full of standard Romance Novels and that was pretty well it. So she decided to look into a slightly different type of romance novel.
A story that was more about the female lead than about the budding romance between a male and female. Her stories still center around a female and male, but they mostly follow the female detective in her quest to find the truth about all kinds of issues - both personal as well as professional. And that is why Chrissy thinks the average female reader will enjoy reading them. They are the same but different.
Chrissy began to write her first novel, Dead Envy, in 2002. She put all her writings away when she lost confidence and didn't go back to them until sometime in the summer of 2012 when she started thinking in the back of her head that these stories might be needed by women after all. The market has opened up to a lot of different genres now all called 'main stream'.
So she picked up her writing from ten years previously and began to document the life of Detective Samantha Dahill again.
All of Chrissy's stories are written on either an Apple iPad or a MacBook Pro. Chrissy is happily married to husband Ken and together they have three lovely daughters. They live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
