Hi! This is Art Chester -- and also Urno Barthel. I write about technology and science in three ways:

Chester or Arthur Chester. This part of my work is mainly of interest to specialists in laser technology and technology management.

I'm lucky to have two perspectives: that of an insider -- a research scientist, a manager and former president of a research lab; and an outsider -- a person who reads the news and says, what the heck is going on here? A scientist is only an expert in his or her own specialty: however, the scientific approach can be useful in analyzing news and events in the world around us.

Some of my influences as a fiction writer are: Colin Dexter, Haruki Murakami, William Gibson, P G Wodehouse, Philip K Dick and Kurt Vonnegut.
