Laura Roach Dragon

I'm a clinical social worker in New Orleans, LA and a writer on the side. Hurricane Boy was my debut novel and it won a Crystal Kite Award and is on the short list for In the Margins. The Bayou Bogeyman is my second book. That book was especially fun because I got to ask a bunch of my favorite writers to contribute scary story or two and together we created a really fun book.

Writing is harder work than I ever realized, but it's been worth it. Even before I managed to get a contract. Hopefully there will be more stories to come. I like most of all to use humor and fun in my stories. Laughter makes life better. At least to me.
