Sharon Schuman

Sharon Schuman holds degrees in English from Stanford (A.B.) and the University of Chicago (Ph.D.). She has taught literature and interdisciplinary seminars at Deep Springs College, Willamette University, University of Oregon, and Oregon State University. Her publications include “Authorizing Meaning in The Merchant of Venice” (Text and Performance Quarterly 2002), “Dialogic Freedom: In the Side-Shadow of Bakhtin” (Modern Philology 2009), and scores of essays for newspapers and magazines throughout Oregon. Her current project is an essay in progress: “An experiment in Dialogic Freedom: Reading Osama bin Laden.” She lives with her husband David and dog Billy Budd in Eugene, Oregon.
