Wayne Leman

I was born and raised in Alaska. I grew up in the fishing village of Ninilchik. I descend from the first Russian-Alutiiq family that settled our village. I grew up hearing Russian spoken. This gave me an early interest in languages which grew until I majored in Linguistics at universities and have worked as a linguist since 1975 when my wife and I moved to the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation in Montana. I enjoy writing about the Cheyenne language.

I also like to study and publish about our families that descend from Ninilchik, Alaska. And I sometimes write poetry.

My favorite role in life is being a grandpa.
