Darren Edden

I am not a writer by trade nor do I have any specific credentials that allows me to be an expert on the subject. I just have a passion for writing and want to share my thoughts through poetry and tell my stories, share the characters and the worlds I have created through my novels.

I have a day job that pays the bills and takes up my week. I was born in Tamworth Staffordshire in the UK, over the years I have travelled to Warwickshire, Derbyshire, Northumberland, and now reside in Northamptonshire collecting along the way little snippets of their accents as I continue on my life journey!

My influences are varied, spanning multiple genres and platforms with books, TV and film.

For books there are Ray Bradbury, Robert A. Heinlein, James Herbert and Edgar Cantero to name a few.

For TV there are such good science fiction dramas like Doctor who (classic and modern), Torchwood, Travellers, Stranger Things, the fantastic Captain Scarlet, and the brilliant The Mandalorian. Fantasy/horror such as Supernatural (which is one of my huge favourites), A Discovery of Witches, The Witcher and the amazing The Last of us...to name a few.

I am a massive Star trek fan and into Star Wars the original trilogy and the later films especially Rogue One!

For Films there are Bladerunner, Forbidden Planet, The Day the Earth Stood Still, The Matrix, Woman in Black, Ghost in the Shell (anime version) I could carry on....
