Heather S. Friedman Rivera

Heather S. Friedman Rivera, Ph.D., writes fiction and memoir that explore reflection, healing, imagination, and the inner journey. Whether set in the Hawaiian jungle or within the landscapes of memory and identity, her work invites readers into stories of becoming.

A retired registered nurse with a law degree and a doctorate in parapsychic science, Heather brings a unique blend of science, intuition, and lived experience to her writing. She is the author of twenty books for adults and young readers, including the Kitten Kaboodle Detective Agency series.

When she isn’t writing, Heather can be found exploring the trails near her home on Hawaiʻi Island with her husband—and being bossed around by her cats and guinea pigs.

Heather is deaf and hears the world through cochlear implants, which she considers her real-life superpower.
