Eva C Maddox

My husband, Jack, and I reside in Delaware along with our funny and smart goldendoodle, Maxwell Smart (appropriately named!)

I have four amazing children and two equally amazing step-children (I sooo hate that word!). Together, we have 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Family is my treasured gift from God. When any one of them rejoices, I rejoice, when one hurts, I ache right along with them.

I am a graduate of Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio and I have taken courses in counseling and nursing as well as several Bible courses through my local church. Primarily, I write for the Christian market and have been blessed to have many devotions, articles, poems, and stories published in a variety of publications.

My interest in writing professionally began in 2003 when a friend invited me to attend Delmarva Christian Writers' Fellowship in Georgetown, Delaware. For the past ten years as a member of DCWF, I have been busy learning the business and craft of writing. The biggest thing I've learned is that I will never know enough!

My books include:

God in My Kitchen: a 30-day devotional book, packed not only with daily devotions, but recipes, puzzles, poems, tips and other useful information. Each day's reading is based on an ordinary kitchen item.

Eduardo Magnifico, an Unlikely Hero: a book for middle grade boys and girls. Eleven-year-old Eddie has no place of significance in his 5th grade world. His physical attributes are a source of shame for him and an excuse for teasing by classmates. When Eddie's dad abandons the family and his best friend moves away, his already shaky self-image plummets. Dubbed by classmate bullies, "Eduardo Magnifico" because of his special corrective lenses, compounds his misery. Eddie's life is impacted by three important characters, "Wink" his neighbor, Frosty, a dog that stumbles into his home during a snowstorm, and Jerrydon Howard, a new friend. These three help to transform Eddie into a confident and happy young man. Along the way, he learns some valuable lessons about honesty and forgiveness.

Come, Go with Me to Littleton Hill - Book I, A Berry Big Adventure: This book is the first in a series of five learning modules for home and school. Children will love 10-year-old Tessie Trumbull, a fun loving, tomboyish, creative and compassionate friend who will gladly share with them her experiences growing up in rural Kentucky during the 1950s. Tessie's zeal to live life to the fullest often results in her demise, though she always learns from her mistakes. These character-building books offer exciting adventures that will appeal to both boys and girls. In addition they offer a glimpse of life in rural America fifty years ago. Worksheets included provide reinforcement in comprehension, usage, sequencing, dictionary skills, critical thinking, science and nature, social studies, art and Bible.

Roses for Betts: A novel. Follow the life of Dani Krieg as she experiences the depths of despair and her ultimate healing in a way only God could engineer!

In addition, Eva has co-authored:

Keely, My Life-Changer and Keely, Safely Home. These books tell the story of Keely, a mentally and physically handicapped child, and her mother's quest for her daughter's happiness and well-being.

In July 2012, Eva began Kingdom Writers Fellowship, a Christian writers' group that meets monthly in Seaford, Delaware.
