Katherine Burik is an energetic and creative leader. She offers candidates and companies a better way to organize job search and improve interviewing skills to achieve long term career and talent development goals. Her frustration with the candidates she saw and the talent development process in general while a human resource executive led her to found The Interview Doctor with her business partner, Dan Toussant.
At The Interview Doctor, Katherine coaches candidates looking for jobs about how to organize their job searches, interview better, and get the job they want. She speaks frequently to groups about career development and successful job search techniques.
Katherine passionately believes everyone should love the work they do. She organizes her own work life in a way that allows her to get the most out of life and still have a successful, rewarding career. She has been laid off more times than most people she knows and always landed well. Contrary to public opinion, being laid off can be liberating!
Katherine grew up in Chicago, IL and received a BA in History from Northwestern University and and MS in Industrial Relations from Loyola University of Chicago. She moved to Northeast Ohio in 1994. Prior to founding The Interview Doctor in 2004, she held senior level roles in human resources. She has seen all sorts of good and awful candidates and every kind of business situation you can imagine.
Katherine blogs about the job search process at The Interview Doctor blog, www.jobinterviewcoaching.org/blog/.
