Jean Givan

JEAN GIVAN, a freelance writer, from NY had gone to LA in 2007 to train under a highly skilled, veteran script supervisor, Jim Kelly Durgin (who has since passed). Jean drew from her internal reservoir, as her financial well ran dry during LA's 2009 Writer's Strike, on the heels of the 2008 housing crisis. Jean wound up in transitional housing in downtown Los Angeles at the same time Obama made his way to the White House.

"21 Tips for Making It Out of Your Tough Times" are various strategies Jean has used (and still uses) to navigate her harrowing daily life experiences, as she weaved her way throughout the landscape of LA, California's Skid Row - choices she does not regret having made. That experience and life in general have given Jean plenty of opportunities to use and hone practical skills that serve her to this day and would be helpful to anyone facing TOUGH TIMES.

Jean lives on Long Island (in New York - USA) with her nonagenarian mom and is looking forward to international travel as it becomes safe, post Covid-19. Jean has made key contact with the United Kingdom, Germany and France. Her sights are also set on Brazil, Canada, China, India, Italy, Japan and Spain, and several other countries for the not-too-distant future.
