Stu Dunn is a New Zealand author with more than three decades studying and applying human behaviour, communication and personal development.
His interest in behavioural science led him into the study of body language, micro-expressions, deception detection and the Facial Action Coding System (FACS). He became New Zealand’s first FACS-certified consultant and has trained thousands of people internationally, including participants from government, defence, fraud investigation, customs and major corporate organisations.
In 2013, Stu published True Lies, a practical guide to reading behaviour and understanding what people communicate beyond their words. His ongoing interest in behavioural psychology and relationship dynamics has continued to shape his work and writing.
His professional background spans property, banking, government, IT and business. He has spent around 90–95% of his working career either working for himself or in sales and commission-based roles.
That combination of behavioural science, martial arts, business, relationships and real-world experience ultimately led to The Seven Pillars — a practical framework for men to become more intentional, capable and effective across their relationships, work and life.
Stu lives on the Kāpiti Coast, New Zealand, with his wife, Bridget.
