Dr. Ryan Chamberlin

Since the late 1990's, Dr. Chamberlin has been refining a method for teaching preppers how to become medics in the shortest amount of time. His ultimate goal is to guide them to the point where they feel comfortable dealing with the medical emergencies common to disasters and cataclysms. His survival medicine books are written for that single-minded purpose. Since then he has created a popular medical preparedness web site, ThePrepperPages.com, which you can visit to learn more about medical conditions encountered during catastrophes.

WHAT WILL I LEARN FROM DR. CHAMBERLIN'S MEDICAL PREPPER BOOKS?

In the first book, Dr. Chamberlin details the ways preppers can scavenge what they need for a medical kit - if they find themselves without one. Or if a person is putting together a kit, he discusses the most useful items to have and how to use them in the field. "Creatively locating and acquiring" antibiotics and other medicines in disasters is reviewed in depth. So are suturing, splinting, and treating most illnesses you can expect to see.

In his second, and by using the survivors of WWII as examples, he expands on the diseases preppers are most likely face in prolonged disasters and war.

To support learning he has created instructional videos and posted them to his blog and to The Prepper Pages channel on YouTube. If you'd like more information, or you'd like to contact Dr. Chamberlin, visit him at ThePrepperPages.com.

Dr. Chamberlin is a professor of medicine living in Portland Oregon. He blogs on a number of subjects in Wilderness and Field Medicine.
