Abdul Rahman Rahmani

Abdul Rahman Rahmani was born on the 27th of April, 1984 in Walian Village, Khinjan District, Baghlan Province, Afghanistan. He lost his father at the age of four months, and his mother remarried when he was thirteen years old. He grew up with his uncle Ghulam Haidar in Peshawar Pakistan. His childhood passed among hundreds of other Afghan children in one of the Peshawar refugee camps in Pakistan.

When the Mujahidin took power in Kabul in 1992, Rahmani returned to Afghanistan with his uncle’s family and worked hard to graduate from Ansari High School in Kabul in 2003. In early 2004, he joined the Afghan Special Forces famous unit in Afghanistan known as ASNF (Afghan Special Narcotics Forces) also Task Force 333.

In 2009, he went to the United Kingdom and the Ukraine for flight engineer training. He received his diploma in the middle of 2010 in aviation and worked with the Special Mission Wing (SMW) for three years while he simultaneously attended Kabul University for sociology and philosophy.

He was in the middle of his studies when he published his first book, London Our Dreams, which is a travel journal of his own experience being abroad from Afghanistan. Shortly after publishing his first book, he translated three chapters of the book Decision Points, written by George W. Bush, the former President of the United States. This book was published by Taak Publications in Kabul, Afghanistan in 2012.

In late 2012, he was then selected for flight school in the United States to be a Mi-17 helicopter pilot, and as of summer, 2013 he is in the midst of flight school at Fort Rucker, Alabama in the United States of America.
