Mr Phil Ross

Phil Ross has more than 30 years’ award-winning experience as a sportswriter, news editor and reporter, and editorial page editor on daily newspapers and in public relations. He has worked on daily newspapers in California, Nevada, Texas and Colorado, including The Anaheim Bulletin, Orange Coast Daily Pilot, Ventura County Star-Free Press, Daily Commercial News, Las Vegas Review-Journal, El Paso Times and Daily News-Press. He is former majority communications officer for the Colorado House of Representatives. Ross earned a degree in Mass Communication from Cal State Hayward (now Cal State East Bay) and is an honorably discharged Vietnam Era veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to covering everything from high school sports to pro football, he worked as a freelancer on the professional rodeo circuit, including covering the National Finals Rodeo. He also was a college and high school baseball umpire for 18 years. He lives with his wife in the Denver area.
