Ted Schroder

Ted Schroder was born in New Zealand of a pioneer family who settled there in the 1860’s. He was raised in the Anglican church where he committed his life to Christ as a teenager through the ministry of his pastor, Harvey Teulon and visiting mission speakers Corrie ten Boom, J. Edwin Orr, Robert B. Doing and William Dunlap. Called to the ordained ministry when he was sixteen years old he majored in English and History at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch (1963), and studied Theology at Durham University in England (1966).

His first ministry in 1967 was at All Souls Church, Langham Place, in the West End of London as assistant to the famous Anglican Evangelical preacher and writer, John Stott, and as Chaplain to the Polytechnic of Central London (now the University of Westminster). After meeting and marrying Emory University (1966) graduate Antoinette Bowie of Anderson, South Carolina, he moved to the U.S.A. in 1971 to become Dean of Christian Life at Gordon College in Massachusetts. He was Rector of Grace Church, Orange Park, Florida (1978-1986) and Christ Church, San Antonio, Texas (1986-2000). He has been the Pastor of Amelia Plantation Chapel, Amelia Island, Florida since 2000. He is the father of two daughters and the grandfather of four grandchildren.
