I really enjoyed being a stay-at-home dad for over 30 years while our 22 kids were growing up. It was never what I thought I would be doing in life when I grew up in a sports-dominated family as the 11th of 15 children in Barre, Vermont. But sometimes God has different plans! I graduated from New England College, married Sue, my high school sweetheart and devoted my life to our family, the world of adoption, and being a deacon at church. Now that the kids are grown, I love my job at Project HOME working with homeless adults. My favorite day of the week is "Cousins Day" when 10 or so of my grandchildren come over and hang out with me - I help them with homework, we play, read and have dinner together. Its a great time. I played hockey, soccer and baseball as a kid and enjoy all sports - I'm a true Philadelphia sports fan, and also love college hoops. I enjoy reading which is why I am excited to also be an author now. My first published writing was a chapter in the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" book for Caregivers published in March of 2012 and a year later, the book I co-authored with my wife, "Are We There Yet: The Ultimate Road Trip Adopting and Raising 22 Kids" is out. I hope you'll enjoy it and let us know what you think!
