Kiri Østergaard Leonard

Kiri Østergaard Leonard is an illustrator with a flair for the quirky and whimsy. Her artwork reflects a passion for the world of fairies, a deep interest in fairy tales as well as an inherent fondness of Nordic myth and folklore.

Kiri Østergaard Leonard grew up in the small village of Boeslum in Denmark, Scandinavia, surrounded by beautiful nature and a wide variety of farmstead animals. While still living in Denmark she attended The Academy of Fine Arts in Aarhus, before leaving her home country behind to continue her studies at the Pratt Institute in New York City. She resides in Austin, Texas, where she thrives as a full time artist and illustrator.

She draws upon inspiration from her own childhood, along with nature, mythology, folklore and fairy tales. Her artwork tends to take on an imaginative and whimsical feeling and is often rich in color.
