Lola S. Scobey

Lola S. Scobey lives in hip, buzzing Portland, Oregon -- a city jammed with eclectic entrepreneurs who lead world trends in sustainability. Likewise, her own writing career has led from philosophical theology; to an acclaimed book on Willie Nelson's deep-rooted music; and on to investigate what sustainability promises for America's communities and the common good.

Lola works with Fennell Group architecture as Sustainability Director. An award-winning writer or co-writer of five books, she holds post-graduate certificates in sustainable enterprise from University of Oregon and Willamette University's MBA program. Currently she's completing a Master's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.

As an entrepreneur and small business owner, Lola sees life as inherently interdisciplinary - and views cross-paradigm entrepreneurship as a key place creative insights become real. For example, springboarding off a career in the hit record business, she co-founded Audio-Therapy Innovations - which pioneered the use of recorded music therapy for children with special needs.

An advocate for the full personhood of women since grade school, Lola spearheaded a year-long marketing outreach for the Women's Bureau of the U. S. Department of Labor and served on the national board of Christians for Biblical Equality.

Lola's core values arise from her spirituality, and she is a certified Spiritual Director. Her Master's thesis explores the possibility of new spiritual paradigms at the intersection of philosophy, theology, psychology and sustainability.
