Bito David

BITO DAVID was born in Haiti, in the city of Pétion-Ville. After completing his primary and secondary education, respectively at the Institution St. Joseph and the Petit Séminaire College St. Martial, he went to the Faculty of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine where he majored in Economics and Rural Development. He emigrated to the United States, in southeast Florida in October 1991, and there he continued his studies to obtain a degree in Business Administration and a Masters in Cultural Foundations of Education.

He works in the field of education as a Multicultural Communications and Engagement Specialist for the School District of Palm Beach County. Its functions include establishing and maintaining a system of communication and collaboration between the school district and the Haitian community, including the media, parents, businesses and community organizations for greater community involvement in education. He also advocates strongly for the integration of Haitian culture in the multicultural celebration in the United States.

He received in January 2005 the "Golden Achievement Award" for its initiative and the various activities carried out to promote the celebration of Haitian Heritage Month in Palm Beach County. He also received in May 2008 the "Distinguished Service Award" for his exemplary service, dedication and loyalty to the service of his community in South Florida.

Bito David is also a Cultural Competence Trainer, a Haitian Culture Presenter, and a Haitian Creole Language Curriculum Writer. His experience includes several trainings and presentations for Social Services Workers and Facilitators for public and government agencies, private organizations, teachers, university students, etc.

Besides his professional duties in the field of education, Bito David is a writer/poet. He is the author of several articles in Creole/French magazines and newspapers in the United States. He has published several books on the socio-economic and political situation of Haiti and also other issues relating to philosophy, love, humanism and everyday life.
