Scott Stewart

Scott Stewart is the vice president of analysis at Stratfor, a global intelligence company. He is a former Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) special agent who investigated hundreds of terrorism cases, spanning the globe from Albania to Yemen. Most notably, he was the lead State Department investigator of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and the follow-on investigation of the thwarted “N.Y. Bomb Plot.” Scott is one of the Special Agents profiled in the book "Relentless Pursuit: The DSS and the Manhunt for the Al Qaeda Terrorists" by Sam Katz.

Scott also served as a member of the U.S. government’s Interagency Hostage Location Task Force and was part of the American team that debriefed Anglican envoy Terry Waite upon his release from captivity in Lebanon in 1991.

From 1994 to 1996, Scott was the deputy regional security officer at the U.S. Embassy in Guatemala City. While in Guatemala he had the opportunity to offer security assistance, advice and briefings to a number of missionaries, missionary organizations, Christian schools and American expatriates.

Prior to joining Stratfor, Scott spent six years with Dell Computer Corporation, where he served as the intelligence coordinator for Dell’s Global Security Division and as a leader on Michael Dell’s executive protective team.

Scott’s experiences as a committed Christian and loving husband and father, and his decades of service in a variety of church leadership roles, have helped provide him with the background to address security topics from a Christian perspective. He and his wife also lead a group from their church on an annual short-term mission trip.

Scott frequently lectures on terrorism and security to law enforcement, university and civic groups. He is regularly featured as a security expert in leading media outlets, including The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, CNN International, NPR, Reuters, USA Today, The Associated Press, World Magazine, Fox News, Discovery Channel and Time magazine.
