Murray Holland

Murray T. Holland is a resident of Dallas, Texas. He graduated in 1975 from Washington and Lee University with a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology. He earned an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia in 1978 and a law degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 1980. During the 1980s, he practiced corporate and securities law with Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer and Feld in Dallas, Texas, where he made partner. In 1987, he became an investment banker in New York with First Boston and later moved to Kidder, Peabody & Co. where he was a Managing Director. In the early 1990s, he started the private equity firm of Convergent Associates, based in Dallas, Texas.

He became Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Convergent Media Systems Corporation, Atlanta, Georgia, from 1992 through January 2006 when the company was sold. Mr. Holland was also principal shareholder and Chairman of the Board of Convergent Group Corporation, Denver, Colorado, from June 1993 through August 1999 when the company was sold, and principal shareholder and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BTI Americas, Inc. from February 1995 through June 1998 when the Company was sold. These companies were in the software, systems integration, travel and network businesses, had 4,600 employees and offices around the world.
