R. Pasha

Dr. Raza Pasha has the distinction of being both Board-Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology as well as in Sleep Medicine. He has several academic appointments including Clinical Assistant Professor at UTMB School of Medicine as well as other university affiliations. He currently resides in Houston, Texas where is founded the Pasha Snoring and Sinus Center in 2001.

Dr. Raza Pasha is a nationally recognized innovator in the latest methods for treating snoring and sinus disease. He has been instrumental in pioneering several minimally invasive methods to address sinusitis including performing the first in-office balloon sinuplasty procedure in Houston (2010) as well as performing the first in-office Propel™ steroid eluding stent in the United States. Dr. Pasha is also a leader for more advanced surgical procedures including the application of the da Vinci robot for sleep apnea.

Dr. Pasha also has had the privilege to lecture (>65 times) throughout the country to peers, residents, medical students, and other healthcare providers in academic settings as a paneled expert or featured lecturer. He frequently has residents, colleagues, and medical students rotate through his clinic to learn his technique and approach. Dr. Pasha has also served as a consultant for a number of research healthcare companies.

Dr. Pasha has several current research interests including the use of in-office balloon dilation techniques for the treatment of chronic sinusitis, rhinogenic headaches (headaches caused by the nose or sinuses). Other active investigational interests include advanced surgical techniques to address advanced obstructive sleep apnea.

In addition to teaching, Dr. Pasha is a prolific author having published several original journal articles from various institutions including: The Cleveland Clinic, Ohio State University, Wayne State University, and the University of Texas – Houston. He is however best known for his pocket review book, which has become a staple for residents in training.

Dr. Pasha is a strong advocate for patient education and community outreach. He has been an invited guest to several health related public programming and is frequently featured in the press including KHOU Channel 11, KPRC Channel 2, The Learning Channel (TLC), and several radio stations. He also has a featured segment on Great Day Houston and Houston Life.

Dr. Pasha is a leader of patient and physician advocacy as he is a co-founder and medical director of the Altus Health Management Systems, a consortium of physician owned medical facilities located throughout Texas. He also is a founder of Altus Accountable Care Entity (ACE), a value based, managed care product specifically aimed at the aged, blind, and disabled populous. Dr. Pasha is also affiliated with several other professional associations including Texas Medical Association, American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Aside from taking care of patients, Dr. Pasha also takes pleasure in music as a keyboardist for a local doc-vested rock band and partakes in the occasional leisure scuba dive wherever his travels take him. He may also be spotted in the bike trails of Memorial Park or a Mixed Martial Arts hot spot supporting his favorite fighter.
