Jamie Steane

Jamie Steane is a Principal Lecturer in the Department of Media and Communication Design at Northumbria University in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Before joining academia, Jamie worked internationally as a designer and creative director for numerous prestigious design and media businesses including Philips, Time-Warner, Windmill Lane Pictures and WPP in Europe, the USA and South East Asia.

Jamie completed his life-long ambition at the tender age of 26! As an eleven-year-old boy in his native North Yorkshire he dreamt about becoming a design engineer working in Malaysia... Fifteen years later he found himself in Kuala Lumpur having designed in an interactive on demand inflight entertainment system for Malaysia Airlines. Friends had told Jamie he was nuts taking on the challenge - "When have you see 400 PCs work on the ground, let alone in the air?"

Jamie continues to love challenges many years later...
