Dane Egli writes from his experience as a career Coast Guard officer, director on the White House National Security Council staff under George W. Bush, senior advisor to the Combatant Commander at NORAD/US Northern Command, and PhD public policy researcher from University of Colorado-Denver. He currently serves as a homeland and national security advisor at The Johns Hopkins University (JHU) Applied Physics Laboratory while teaching graduate students at JHU's Carey Business School and Whiting School of Engineering.
