Michelle Manville

Michelle Manville was born and raised in Oklahoma City, OK, where she and the neighborhood kids played "school" during their summer vacations. Michelle continued her quest to be a teacher, attaining her B.S. in Elementary Education from Missouri Western College in 1975 and her Masters in Elementary Administration from Northwest Missouri State University in 1999.

She worked as a STARR teacher for the state of Missouri from 1998-1999, facilitating and conducting curriculum workshops and teacher trainings throughout northwest Missouri. Michelle spent most of her 26-year career teaching language arts to 7th and 8th grade students at East Buchanan C-1 School District in Gower, Missouri. Her final ten years were spent working with teachers as the district curriculum director at East Buchanan.

Retiring in 2010, Michelle began her writing career and has now completed six books on Common Core State Standards for Language Arts. Grades K-1, 2-3 and 4-5 are available now. Grades 6, 7 and 8 are due to be published this summer.

Michelle spends her leisure time traveling with her husband or at the family farm in Kansas or at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. They have two grown children.
