After earning my Ph.D. in political science from Columbia, I spent over 30 years working in a variety of public and private sector organizations doing business, financial, or public policy analysis. My retirement a few years ago has enabled me to revisit old interests and spend a good part of my time doing what I like to do better than almost anything else: reading and writing about politics. I set out to do a book about Noam Chomsky's political writings because Chomsky's main concerns largely overlap with important subjects that I've always wanted to understand better, notably: Cold War history, the impact of American foreign policy on the rest of the planet, the structure of political power in the United States, and the role of the mass media and of intellectuals in shaping pubic perceptions of the political world. My blog, Talking About Politics (www.tony-greco.com) is another vehicle for exploring those concerns, among others.
