Dr. Michael S. Joyner, MD, MBA, PhD — known professionally as Dr. Michael J — is the author of Bring It In and the Forever My Daddy children’s book series. He is a longevity strategist, fellowship-trained hand and microsurgeon, U.S. Army veteran physician, inventor, and founder of the ProAging Longevity Lab & Vitality Center.
His work sits at the intersection of precision medicine, human performance, mindset, and personal reinvention. In Bring It In, Dr. Joyner presents a structured framework for approaching health, aging, and performance with the same discipline and precision he brings to the operating room. His central belief is that longevity is the ultimate currency — and that it should be managed deliberately, not left to chance.
Dr. Joyner’s approach draws from his clinical career as a hand and microsurgeon, his military service as a U.S. Army surgeon and General Medical Officer, and his PhD in Positive Sports Psychology. Through this lens, he treats mindset, resilience, stress regulation, behavior change, and physical optimization as connected pillars of long-term vitality.
He is also the author of Forever My Daddy: Denied and creator of the Forever My Daddy children’s book series, which supports children and families navigating separation, divorce, and co-parenting. This work reflects his broader mission: helping people protect connection, stability, identity, and resilience during major life transitions.
A Los Angeles native and Loyola High School alumnus, Dr. Joyner earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine as a United States Army Health Professions Scholarship recipient. He completed surgical training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Morehouse School of Medicine, served as Chief General Surgery Resident at Grady Memorial Hospital, completed fellowship training at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery, and was a visiting microsurgical scholar at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taipei, Taiwan.
Dr. Joyner is also the inventor of patented Touchless Flatware, Touchless Chopsticks, and Touchless Dishware, and creator of the Touchless Mindset. Across his books, clinical practice, and longevity work, Dr. Michael J brings the precision of a surgeon, the discipline of a military physician, and the mindset of a performance strategist to help readers take command of how they age, lead, recover, and live.
