Lisa Toney

Hi, I’m Lisa Toney—author, speaker, Bible teacher, and professional encourager of imperfect humans.

I write stories and Bible studies rooted in hope, courage, and trust in God’s faithfulness—usually with a little humor, because life (and faith) are rarely as tidy as we wish they were. Whether I’m helping adults wrestle honestly with Scripture in studies like Perfectly Flawed and Not One Moment Late, or inviting young readers into everyday adventures through The Lakeshore Four series, my goal is the same: to tell stories that build character, spark courage, and remind people they’re not alone.

I’ve spent over twenty years in pastoral leadership and teaching, which means I’ve learned a lot about faith, people, and the fine art of showing up even when you don’t feel ready. I hold degrees in Communications and Theology—useful tools that pair nicely with real-life experience and a good sense of humor.

I live in Southern California with my husband, our four kids, a puppy, a gecko, and a small but opinionated flock of chickens. I believe coffee should be strong, dark chocolate should be shared (sometimes), and some of the most meaningful moments with God happen in the middle of ordinary days.

Thanks for being here—I hope my books feel like an encouraging conversation you didn’t know you needed.
