Luis A Moreno

I was born in Managua, Nicaragua. I attended high school at Colegio Maestro Gabriel and at the National School of Commerce. From 1974 to 1975 I was a member of the Folkloric Ballet directed by Professor Haydée Palacios.

In 1976 I joined the Military Academy of Nicaragua. In 1978 I was sent to West Point, the United States Military Academy, through the Latin America Annual Cadets Exchange program. I graduated as an Infantry Officer on June 17, 1979 and was commissioned as Second Lieutenant of the Nicaraguan National Guard.

In 1981 I joined the Contras--Nicaraguan Democratic Force, later known as Nicaraguan Resistance Army--as a volunteer. From 1981 to 1989 I served as Field Commander, Chief of Military Operations and a member of the General Staff. On March 28, 1988, I was Head of the Military and Technical Delegation at the Sapoá Talks. I survived five military-action wounds, two of them serious. In 1989 I retired from the Contras.

I studied accounting at Florida International University and graduated in the year 2000. I currently live in Jacksonville, Florida.

Nací en Managua, Nicaragua. Curse mi bachillerato en El Colegio Maestro Gabriel y La Escuela Nacional de Comercio, De 1974 a 1975 fui miembro del ballet folklórico dirigido por la Profesora Haydee Palacios.

En 1976 ingreso a la Academia Militar de Nicaragua. En 1978 enviado a West Point La Academia Militar de los Estados Unidos, en el intercambio anual de cadetes Latino Americanos. Me gradué como oficial de Infantería 17 de Junio 1979.

En 1981 ingrese como voluntario a los Contras Fuerza Democrática Nicaragüense, que después se llamaría Ejercito Resistencia Nicaragüense.

De 1981-1989 me desempeño como comandante de tropas, Jefe de operaciones militares y miembro de Estado Mayor.

El 28 de Marzo de 1988 fui el Jefe de la delegación técnica Militar en las conversaciones de Sapoa . Sobreviví cinco heridas en acciones militares dos de ellas graves . En 1989 me retiro de las armas.

De 1995-2000 Curse la Carrera de contabilidad en la Universidad Internacional de la Florida,.

En la actualidad vivo en Jacksonville, Florida
