Ed Jones has been cataloging serials much of his professional life, including nearly two decades overseeing CONSER operations at Harvard University and National University (San Diego). Over the years he has authored scholarly papers on serials cataloging, the FRBR and FRAD conceptual models, and Resource Description and Access (RDA). He has been a consultant to the American Library Association, the National Information Standards Organization (NISO), and the Library of Congress and has taught cataloging classes at Dominican University (River Forest, Ill.) and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where his doctoral dissertation won the 1995 Berner-Nash Memorial Award. Ed lives with his wife Marty Weiner in San Diego, where he is Associate Director for Assessment and Technical Services at National University.
