Marie Powell

Marie Powell is an author of young adult fantasy, including the "Last of the Gifted" series, with "Spirit Sight" and "Water Sight" to date. She is the author of more than 40 books with such publishers as Scholastic Education Canada, Amicus Publications, Crabtree, and Lerner/Lightning Bolt. She holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia. Marie's award-winning short stories and poetry appear in such literary magazines as The Sunlight Press, subTerrain, Room, and Transition. She is also a professional writer and editor, with articles in more than 70 print, online, and broadcast markets. Marie lives on Treaty 4 land in Regina, Saskatchewan, and her writing workshops are popular across the region.
