Joe H. Vaughan

Joe H. Vaughan (Jr.) was born in 1948 and raised in Kansas City, Kansas (USA). After graduating from the William Allen White School of Journalism and Public Information at the University of Kansas, he was a well-known, award winning broadcast journalist in the Midwest for 22-years. Vaughan then established Joe Vaughan Associates (publisher/author) in Prairie Village, Kansas in 1990. He resides in Prairie Village in 2014. In 2012, Vaughan authored a pictorial history book for Arcadia Publishing Co., entitled, "Kansas City, Kansas". It is the first photo history book ever published about this Midwestern industrial city and covers the years 1803 (Lewis & Clark) to 2012. Presently, Vaughan is under contract with Two Trails Publishing of Independence, Mo., for a book entitled, "Thomas Johnson's Story and the history of Fairway, Kansas". This book is due for release in the fall of 2014. Some of his other works include pictorial history books for the cities of Westwood, Kansas; Mission, Kansas; Merriam, Kansas; the History of KCKN AM & FM Radio station and the Susquicentennial of Historic Union Cemetery in Kansas City, Mo. He produced the city newsletter and parks and recreation directories for Prairie Village for a number of years. Vaughan Associates also publishes annual directories and similar material for clubs and organizations throughout the metropolitan Kansas City area.
