More about Author

I have known Jane for many years, including both European and American periods of our lives. I had the opportunity to learn a lot from this master-educator and a founder of Lifelong Approaches, where we both perform as business partners, educational and organizational development consultants, and provide workshops for educational and organizational leaders. I have worked with her closely upon numerous projects in areas of fine and visual art, including Living Art Studio, where we are teaching Fine Arts.

Jane is very knowledgeable and educated person who always ready to share her skills, knowledge and talent with her audience. She may perform as a team leader and as a team player, who always busy and oriented to complete any task successfully. Being a lifelong learner, Jane seeks the same attitude in others and attempts to transfer this approach to her students. Many of us accept her as a role-model and ready to follow her willingness to be slightly ahead of the time. Her passion to teaching and research leads to improvements in educational systems and programs, especially when it seems to education of disadvantaged population in school setting. Her doctoral dissertation was on influence of alternative methods of instruction on English learners abilities to learn and communicate in K-12 School setting. She wrote many articles, essays, and books on pedagogical, philosophical, and educational issues. On a personal note, Jane is very warm and exceptionally talented, creative person, who can do each project from the sketch or idea to the end while bringing her heart to effective accomplishment.

I think that Jane's strong ability to delivering information and teaching in ethical, philosophical, and exemplary manner accompanied by a variety of situations may lead a reader to understanding how to deal with the life circumstances while simply joining characters in Jane's novel. I highly recommend the book Dance When the Witnesses are Gone for reading. In this book, the readers from different audience would find something to think about. Developed as a family saga, the book includes many concepts related to human nature and demonstrates how principles, attitude, and behavior of main characters have changed through their lives according to changes in both society and their personal lives. Reader will also find out how the major characters found their way to grow professionally in the new land after immigration and how art helped them not just survive but succeed. The book includes both failure and true love stories that have happened to the major character of the novel. These stories would encourage a reader to stay tune to the new episode and to believe that a real love is possible not only in young, but in retirement age.

I first met Jane Goretskaya during her tenure as a Master degree candidate at Syracuse University. As her primary advisor, I had the opportunity to work closely with Jane. I found her a highly talented and dedicated artist with a superior work ethic. Her assignments were done in a very professional manner with great thoughts and precision and were always on schedule. I have stayed in touch with Jane since she earned her master's degree in 1998. I am delighted with her development as a successful artist/designer/teacher in the visual com-munication field.

Jane is up to speed on computer technology and programs and is just as comfortable with traditional media. I believe Jane's talent and wide experience would be an asset to any program she would teach.

Dr. Jane Goretskaya has worked with me as a Doctoral Candidate in Educational Leadership. She has indeed been a pleasure to work with and have as part of the program. I was honored to be her Chair in this Doctoral Journey.

Dr. Goretskaya working as a Doctoral Student must function in her daily life but also in her classes that are quite demanding. The courses require significant decision making for the learners and extensive interactions with faculty and other students. Jane displayed great leadership skills when working within the classes, as a communicator and leader. Her work in the program was outstanding and she has been an excellent contributor in the educational community and a great consumer of appropriate and valid research.

Since graduation she has taught in University of Phoenix-online as a faculty and participated in research groups, opened a consulting firm, participated in some professional associations, including ERA, APA, and CATESOL, and wrote some books alone and with her business partner. Title of one of the books is Anatomy of the World of Education: Theories, Landmark Cases, and Best Practices and Anatomy of Business: Theories, Models, and Best Practices, and Dance Me when the Witnesses are Gone.

Jane is exceptionally creative and intelligent. She has exceptional communication skills and had taken on the task of leader in classes she is teaching. This characteristic provides me with a good sense of how Dr. Goretskaya thoughts described in her book would assist others in a variety of life situations. Jane is dependable, responsible, and impeccably honest. Her friendly nature and sense of humor define her personality. It endears her to others and engenders great trust and respect. I have immensely enjoyed working with Jane and consider her one of the top Doctoral Alumni for Educational Leadership.

I had distinct pleasure of working with Jane Goretskaya as my Marketing Communication Manager. Hypervision is located in Silicon Valley and makes tools for semiconductor equipment business. Volatility and change are typical for our business. You have to have a certain dedication just to keep up with the constant evolution of the technology. Jane was always dedicated to her work whether we were up or dawn. I would hire her back in heartbeat if I could.

How can I describe Jane? She is warm, exceptionally talented, creative person and organized person. I could count on laying out a creative project and her enthusiasm would rise immediately. She also relentlessly hard worker the likes of which one seldom sees nowadays. I enjoyed working with her on many levels creativity and organizationally. She has a quite confident energy that rivals most other workers. I don't believe looking back that Jane was offended by any criticism leveled at her creative projects. She just worked harder to understand the project goal. She resolved problems with my input, but developed her own ideas and concepts for their final resolutions. I never saw her not busy, she always was working on the next project without any prodding from my end and from morning to evening.

Many creative managers are efficient administrators but have no creative talent. Jane could do it all. Participating in organizing overseas events, develop collateral artwork, and our copy for brochure, and manage our website. I do manage in strictest sense. She is organized. She also has the technical "smart" to only develop the artwork for website but can write HTML and get the site up and running on her own. No question she is a computer savvy and enthusiastic about learning new technology and software.

Off all her skills I thought her Masters Degree in Fine Arts and Illustration was of the most benefits to me. She is a gifted artist. We covered artwork from every angle of commercial endeavor from website photography through creative graphic. Her last project was a comic book for our website on exceptionally creative effort on her end considering we sell emission microscope.

Finally, let me address Jane the person. She is a very warmhearted and kind person in many ways. A dedicated family person. I think she worked as hard of taking care of her family as she did of taking care of our business needs. She is devoted to her daughter and their children. In other words fine human being. If I could bring, I would. A talent of this kind who also brings along strong work ethic and is easy to direct as rare.

Jane Goretskaya has provided consultations for those newcomers from Europe (Former Soviet Union), who attend our émigré program and have difficulties to adapt new culture of their new land. I had the opportunity to see how people become less stressful and began to understand better what a new social environment requires them to change in their attitude and behavior after Jane's consultations.

Working with newcomers (individuals, families, groups) Jane has patience and capability to explain them significant differences of both European and American markets, cultures, and social issues. I know her as very dedicated, intelligent person, who is willing to assist people to recognize better what they need to do to make their adaption period easier and their lives better.

The newcomers, attending our program, had experienced a lot of stress in their native countries due to political, societal, and religious issues. Our goal is to educate them to be an equal part of the society and make them proud citizens of their new land. Jane's consultations and teaching in her books convey a powerful accord and contribution to this goal.

Jane Goretskaya has taught Fashion Illustration at Cazenovia College. My overall impression of her professionalism and uninhibited enthusiasm in constantly wanting to excel are high. She is a very accomplished artist in her own right. I remember how impressed the search committee was of her portfolio of skillfully crafted paintings and drawings. Moreover, these skills directly to the classroom, working right along with her students and thereby are functioning not only as an instructor, but also as a role model. In reviewing her resume I was impressed by the scope of her background, especially her knowledge of computer generated art, video production, animation, creative writing, and marketing techniques.
