Cherrie Amour has mastered the culture and lifestyle of three unique countries. By day, she is a veteran communications professional, working in the field for over 14 years in both Canada and the United States. By night, Cherrie’s candid, narrative style of poetic verse inspires diverse audiences as she flows about life and love. Cherrie’s spoken word is recorded on two CD projects “ilovemesomewords” and “Love’s Journey,” both produced by Detroit techno great, Ray 7. Both projects received reviews by Baltimore City Paper and “ilovemesomewords” by Baltimore Magazine. Free to Be Me is Amour’s first book of poetry. Amour's poem "Hermoso Negro,” featured in Free to Be Me, won an Honorable Mention in the 2013 Allen Ginsberg Poetry Awards and is included in the Paterson Literary Review, issue #42 (Fall 2014).
