Jonathan Backhouse

I am Dr Jonathan Backhouse, an occupational safety and health (OSH) pracademic, and IOSH Volunteer.

I hold a professional doctorate and two master’s degrees and have over 20 years of experience as a fire and OSH practitioner and academic. I am an experienced OSH consultant, auditor, accident investigator, fire risk assessor, expert witness, and author.

I am an experienced international and online NEBOSH course tutor and postgraduate supervisor and external examiner at various universities. In addition, I have volunteered with IOSH for over 14 years; current roles include Research and Advisory Group member.

My primary focus is to help fellow safety professionals and students achieve their potential.
