George G. McClellan

George G. McClellan is a restless man of adventure. He is an army veteran and a retired Special Agent of the NCIS. He has 43 year background in law enforcement including five years with the California Highway Patrol, one year with the International Police Task Force in the former Yugoslavia, as well as local law enforcement associations. He is an amateur historian, bagpiper, motorcyclists and world traveller.

Associations: He is a member of the Robert Burns Club of Atlanta, Ga.,The Robert Burns World Federation, The St. Moritz Toboggan Club (Cresta Run), Association of Former Intelligence Officers, a “Sherlockian” and a Fellow with the Scottish Society of Antiquities. He travels extensively and writes about his world adventures as well as in America. He is also a member of Georgia Writers Association and is an accredited member of the Georgia Press Association by the Ellijay Times-Courier newspaper.

He has published an historical biography on Robert McClellan (1770 - 1815), Indian fighter, trapper and explorer and an “Astorian”, titled Perilous Paths. McClellan was one of the members who discovered the South Pass in Wyoming that later became the Oregon Trail. McClellan also has a biography on Robert Burns in the editing - publishing process, to be titled Everyman’s Essential Guide to the Life and Times of Robert Burns.

McClellan and family, natives of California, have lived in the Philippines, Florida, Hawaii, and the United Kingdom. From the UK, he moved to Georgia in 1987 and retired from service at NAS Atlanta, Ga. in 1990. He and his wife have resided in Ellijay, Ga. since 1999, where they are active in community projects such as the Gilmer Arts and Heritage Association.
