Dr Paul James Moore

Born and raised in a small town called Hastings, located in southwestern Michigan, he graduated from what is now Cornerstone University and Grand Rapids Seminary in 1968. He then served more than quarter of a century in the United States Navy as a Chaplain, regularly with Marines. The last five were spent at the Marine Corps Combat Development Center, Quantico, Virginia, where he worked developing doctrine and training for Navy Chaplains assigned to Marines for performing Ministry in Combat. After retiring from the service he earned an MA in American History, from Midwestern State University, in Wichita Falls, Texas, with a thesis on Lawrie Tatum, the First Kiowa Reservation Agent under President Grant. He then completed a PhD in Transatlantic History, at the University of Texas, at Arlington, with a Dissertation focused on the Kiowa Tribe while adjunct teaching at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth. He retired from teaching in 2009 to do what he loved best, write about history.
