Nate Purdy

Nate Purdy (1988-) was born in St. Charles, Missouri. He grew up in Bryan, Ohio and Edina, Minnesota. He decided he would become a writer at the age of 8 when he received high praise at a summer writing workshop for a short story about his dog secretly being a sports-obsessed genius. In 2011, he graduated with a B.A. in economics and English from Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa. The inspiration for his first novel, "Soul Reckoning", came during a creative writing class at Cornell. An exercise that involved looking at a piece of artwork and then writing for five minutes about whatever came to mind from the image produced the beginning of the story. His family's tradition of summer visits to the town of Manistee, Michigan provided the setting.

Nate is currently at work part two of a planned trilogy, as well as an original screenplay. He resides in the Chicago area.
