Alec Zacaroli

Alec Zacaroli is a writer and author of books, articles and blogs on life, law and faith. In 2003, he co-founded 25:40, a ministry dedicated to serving poor children in southern Africa, after being reunited with the country of his youth. Born in Lacrosse, Wisconsin in 1969, Alec moved to Johannesburg in 1970, where he spent his childhood experiencing a country of stark contrasts, from the magnificence of her natural wonders to the bitter cruelty of apartheid. In 1979, Alec moved to Connecticut. He attended college in Washington, D.C., graduating with a degree in journalism, and worked for more than 10 years as a reporter. He earned his law degree in 1998, and has been practicing law in Washington since. In 1998, Alec married Amy Porter. They live in Northern Virginia with their four children Nick, Sophie, Hannah and Rebecca, and one fat yellow lab named Biko. Alec and Amy founded 25:40 after experiencing a call to serve orphans and other vulnerable children in South Africa’s poor, rural areas. Founded in the spirit of Matthew 25:40, this ministry has opened his eyes to the world’s desperate need for a spiritual awakening.
