Humorist, author, movie producer and sports aficionado Kurt Weichert has invested his time in producing movies, writing fiction novels, screenplays, sitcoms and sports related comedies.
Hot on the heels of his popular book "Sportsfan Chronicles," Kurt Weichert is at it again with this sidesplitting sequel. "Sports and Riches," follows the further misadventures of Kurt, Brian and their band of rowdy friends as they attempt to realize their dream of buying an NFL team. Kurt's books are packed with outrageous humor, this brand new fiction book and its wild cast of characters go to show that some sports fans make up their own rules. The main character is a fictional version of Kurt. As for his real-life friends, he left them out so as not to embarrass them. Instead each character is a composite of people he encountered through the years, and the situations are much the same--combined events.
The basis for Sportsfan Chronicles and Sports and Riches is a body of scripts he wrote for television in the 1990s called The Sportsfan. Despite positive response to the project, He decided to take a hiatus and found himself taking a long break from writing.
It was inevitable that the characters would not be still until they could continue their journey, and that they would not be silent until their tale was told. And so it was, over a decade later, He was ready to return to writing. He decided go back to his roots: sports and comedy.
