Paloma Vidal was born in Buenos Aires in 1975. She has lived in Brazil from the age of two, and her experience of shifting place features prominently in her fiction. She is the author of short stories entitled "Phantoms," from the collection Mais ao sul (Further South, 2008). She is also the author of two novels, Mar azul (The Blue Sea, 2012) and Algum lugar (Somewhere, 2009), and short story collection A duas mãos (Two Hands, 2003). She has translated writers including Clarice Lispector and Margo Glantz, and she works as a professor of literary theory and blogger, www.escritosgeograficos.blogspot.com.
