Cynthia M. McBride

Cynthia McBride is a writer, illustrator and animal trainer living in the Hill Country of Texas. She shares her home with several dogs, cats, a flock of chickens, and Quincy the trained goat.

Ms. McBride has a trio of performing dogs she has trained to entertain people at events, schools, nursing homes, etc. Quincy the goat performs with them. All three of the dogs are mixed breed rescues, to show people that dogs are extremely intelligent creatures, but also that mixed breed, once homeless and even handicapped dogs (one of her dogs is deaf) are able to do amazing things. She hopes that by showing people how intelligent dogs really are, they will be more inclined to care about (and do something about) the homeless pet population problem.

The Three Happy Pups series of children's books features her three performing dogs and photos to entertain and teach children about dogs.

Ms. McBride's favorite thing to do is to watch her menagerie of animal friends, then write about their crazy antics. The Funny Farm books series is a collection of these true and humorous stories about dogs, cats, horses, wildlife, chickens (THE funniest animals in the world!) and, of course, a certain goat!
