Amanda Litz

Hello! I’m Amanda Litz, author of The Traveler’s Trunk Series, The Great Gumshoe, and Sam and Pam series, and creator of Traveler’s Trunk Publishing. I am also a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.

I live with my husband and four children in Cedar Springs, MI. While I grew up in Michigan, I have lived in California, Texas, and Ohio, due to a brief tour in the U.S. Air Force.

I’ve had a passion for reading, writing, and story telling for as long as I can remember. So, it is a dream come true that I am able to write and publish my own children’s books now.

Being one of four children and having four children of my own, I know it can sometimes be hard for a kid to find their place in the family, and the world. This feeling stayed with me while writing my books, which were designed to encourage acceptance of differences, autonomy, and self-confidence, in addition to teamwork.

I am dedicated to promoting literacy in children, and am excited to find new opportunities that not only help kids discover new books, but also help fuel their desire to read more. In addition to volunteering at my local elementary school to help kids read, I also have created fun events - two recent ones being Raising Spirits with Reading and AuthorPalooza!
