Paula Champa is the author of the novel The Afterlife of Emerson Tang, published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and selected as a Notable Design Book of 2013 by Designers & Books. Her short fiction has appeared in a number of literary journals and in the anthology The Way We Work (2008). She is the recipient of an Individual Artist’s Grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and a residency at the European Translation Center’s House of Literature in Paros, Greece. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, she earned a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University.
