Sandra Bretting is the author of a bestselling mystery series for Kensington Publishing called The Missy DuBois Mystery Series. Book two in the series was ranked an Amazon Top 100 Mystery. Since making the transition to historical fiction, she's garnered accolades for her first historical novel, Unfit to Serve, which debuted in 2024.

A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, Sandra began her career writing for the Los Angeles Times, Orange Coast Magazine, and others. From 2006 until 2016, she wrote feature stories for the award-winning Houston Chronicle.

When not writing, Sandra serves as a writing instructor at national conferences and author workshops.
