William Blewett

William Blewett, better known as Bill, grew up in Oklahoma and began his career as a runner in his senior year at Lawton High School. A walk-on at the University of Oklahoma, he improved steadily to become an outstanding runner. After college and two years as an intern, he accepted a job at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, as a research and development engineer. As a part-time sports writer with The Aegis newspaper, he covered local track, cross-country, and road racing for more than 40 years. He coached track and cross country at the high school level for 10 years. He is also the author of The Science of the Fastball published in 2013 by McFarland. He and his wife Joann reside in Bel Air, Maryland, and have raised three grown children.
