Eric A Kittlaus

Eric Kittlaus is a PhD student in Applied Physics at Yale. While his scientific interests focus on applications of nanophotonics, Eric is also an avid writer and lifelong learner. His research thus far as been published in Applied Physics Letters and the Journal of Applied Physics.

Eric also runs Calcblog, a website offering instructional math and calculator tutorials for high school and college students In the future he plans to further explore ways to help and inspire students towards careers in technical and research-oriented fields.

In high school, Eric was a National Merit Scholar and National AP Scholar. He shares his standardized testing secrets in his book "Ace the SAT Using Your TI Calculator." While on a full-tuition undergraduate scholarship at Santa Clara University, Eric was named an SPIE Scholar in Optics and Photonics and a finalist for the prestigious Hertz Foundation Fellowship, and was inducted into six collegiate honor societies, including Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Pi Sigma.

In the future, Eric plans to continue writing educational books while teaching as a research professor or running a company to commercialize novel technologies.
