Rosalind Ferry

I was born in Zimbabwe and grew up in Kenya, East Africa. My father was a doctor specializing in tropical medicine and my mother a nurse. I had an adventurous upbringing, climbing Mt.Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, at the age of 17.

Animals were my constant companions.

I wanted to be a physiotherapist from the age of 14, and did my physiotherapy training in London, England. I emigrated to Canada in 1972. I worked in hospitals in Victoria and Yellowknife. I later opened my own private practice in North Vancouver. I have worked with thousands of patients suffering with sore necks, bad backs, wonky knees, balance and dizziness disorders and trauma. My philosophy has been one of combining physical treatment with an appreciation for the part that stress and other psychological issues play in patients’ overall health.

My inspiration has been my love of animals. I am an avid horse-owner and rider and adore the great outdoors. I am now retired from physiotherapy practice.

I am the author of The Posture Pain Fix, Self-Health Fix, Shine Volume 3 (co-author), Dudu the Mongoose and Other Africa Stories, and Maverick Valley (co-author).
