Ruth Colter

I found my passion for writing fiction fantasy while helping my older sister cope with the rigors of breast cancer. Creating a paradise world with bigger-than-life characters started as a fun project for both of us, but soon grew into a real-life passion for me. Even though my sister lost the battle before the story was completed, I was excited to finish the first book and inspired to carry on with the series. Zelfar - The Discovery, book one of The Zelfar Series, is dedicated to my dear sister.

Zelfar includes a bit of Pacific Northwest history, areas familiar to me, having lived in SW Washington most of my life. I retired from Intel Corporation in 2007 and currently live in Central Oregon with my husband.

I serve as President of Central Oregon Writers Guild, a non-profit organization, which provides programs and events to support writers at all ages and skill levels.
